We will use a local anesthetic to ensure that you feel no pain or discomfort during the procedure. Occasionally sutures (stitches) are used to help with healing. Ways to Avoid Needing a Tooth ExtractionThe best way to avoid a tooth extraction is to build great at-home oral hygiene habits like brushing twice a day and flossing at least once a day. Don’t forget to come in to see us at least twice a year for normal checkups and cleanings. If you engage in physical activities or sporting events, always make sure to wear a mouthguard to protect your teeth and mouth. Mouthguards are inexpensive and easy to obtain compared to the hassle of having to have a tooth extraction. Ask us about a custom made mouthguard specific to your sport.
