Zoom! Teeth Whitening
Nancy Shiba, DDS, we can whiten your teeth quickly and effectively. For patients who are looking for immediate results, the Zoom! System may be right for you. We have plans that can work in as little as an hour, and plans that can work in a few days at home while you sleep. Dr. Shiba can evaluate your enamel and make recommendations based on what she sees.
In-Office or At-Home Plans
The Zoom! In-Office Whitening System whitens your teeth's enamel and dentin up to eight shades in just a little over an hour while you relax. This rapid whitening is ideal for anyone who would prefer immediate results. Done under the direction of Dr. Shiba, the results are fast but should only be done by a dentist due to the high percentage of peroxide used.
The Zoom! Take-Home Whitening System uses a prescribed gel, designed to whiten your teeth’s enamel and dentin an average of six shades after using the prescribed treatment of three nights. With the guidance of Dr. Shiba, some patients can use the treatment additional nights. You can start on Friday and by Monday you'll have a smile you can be proud of.
Over the counter options can get results, but not as quickly, or as bright. Get your teeth whiter in a fraction of the time with the Zoom! system.
How did my teeth get so dingy looking?
Teeth get dirty because they are used. In fact, they are used multiple times a day. The most common reasons for dingy teeth are from the food and drink options we choose, including coffee, tea or a variety of sauces. Teeth can also become stained from smoking tobacco or from taking certain medications. The Zoom! Whitening System can remove surface stains, brightening your teeth, removing years of wear, and many patients even express feeling like they look younger.
Is tooth whitening safe?
This is a great question, many patients do worry about the safety of teeth whitening because there have been reports of burning soft tissues and teeth sensitivity following whitening. We recommend having your teeth whitened under the direction of a dentist, including Dr. Shiba. Many dentists consider whitening one of the safest cosmetic dental procedure available. There is the potential to cause harm if directions are not followed or exceeding the recommended dosage. As with any tooth whitening product, we do not recommend Zoom! for children under 13, or if the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding.
How long will the results last?
Your whitened teeth are starting off clean and bright, but of course, your habits may not necessarily change. As patients continue their daily coffee, food choices, or smoking tobacco, the new layers of wear and tear begin. We recommend patients have their teeth touched up with whitening about once a year.
