 Dr. Shiba and her staff want to ensure you that your health is our highest priority. Our commitment to your safety is the foundation of our care.
We adhere to the infection control guidelines from the Centers of Disease Control/CDC,
California Dept of Health, Occupational Safety and Health Administration/OSHA, and American Dental Association. We continue to follow these agencies’ activities in order to stay current with changing recommendations.
To protect our Patients and our Team:

Each treatment operatory has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with hospital-grade disinfectants that kill 99.9% of all harmful viruses and bacteria.

Disposable protective coverings for equipment is disposed of and replaced after each patient visit.

Disposable dental tools and needles are always disposed of and never reused.
|
| • |
Non-disposable dental tools and equipment are cleaned and sterilized between patients using hospital-grade sterilization equipment that is regularly monitored and tested.

All staff involved in patient care wear appropriate PPE/personal protection equipment: gloves, masks, gowns, eyewear, head coverings, face shields when needed.

In addition to these universal precautions, each operatory is equipped with Surgically Clean Air Purification units that provide 6 stages of medical-grade air filtration using HEPA filters, activated carbon filters, photo catalytic filters, UV-C light, and negative ion chambers. These units are used in hospitals, medical clinics and laboratories, surgery centers, and dental facilities to remove harmful viruses, toxins, pollutants, and airborne contaminants.

Extraoral dental vacuums are used with each patient to filter aerosols generated during dental procedures and thus not compromise the techniques used for your care.

UV-C sterilizer is used for items that cannot be autoclaved or chemically disinfected.

The entire office is fogged with hypochlorous acid to disinfect the air of contaminants.

Our heating and air conditioning system uses an air scrubber for surface and air purification. |
What we require from our patients:

Prior to your appointment, you will be emailed a prescreening questionnaire. On the day of your appointment, you will be asked to complete the questionnaire again. If you are sick (running a fever, coughing, not feeling well), please reschedule your appointment and do not enter our office. We are happy to reschedule your appointment at no charge and we thank you for considering the health of others.

Appointments are managed for social distancing and to allow our staff sufficient time to clean and disinfect all areas of use. Upon your arrival, please remain in your vehicle and call or text us (408 929-8991) to let us know you are here. We will let you know when to come to our office door. Your temperature will be taken at the door.

Please wear your mask to our office and upon completion of your treatment.

Hand sanitizer will be provided and you will be asked to rinse with an antimicrobial mouth wash. |
