Although it is mostly children who end up having loose teeth, many adults can have this problem too. The reasons for a loose tooth in an adult could be a few things including a mouth injury, an accident, and even gum disease.
Whatever the case may be for why someone might have a loose tooth, here are a few things we can do to help you with your loose tooth.
See Your Dentist
Although seeing a dentist should be naturally obvious to anyone with problems with their teeth, some people will try to put it off for as long as they can. Coming in to see us should be done as soon as possible so we can take care of the loose tooth but many people think about the cost we charge and this stops them right in their tracks.
They also think that once they come in, they will have to go through a huge exam, and some people are afraid of the dentist's drill. Whatever the fear may be, they should still see us as soon as possible so we can take care of that loose tooth.
Leave it Alone
If you come across a loose tooth in your mouth and want to see us for assistance, but you have to wait for whatever reason, try to leave it alone as much as you can while you are waiting to come into our office. Try not to poke or prod at it. By doing this, you might knock it all the way out. However, sometimes that might be a good thing.
As always, do not forget to contact us as soon as you can for help with pulling the loose tooth out all the way. While waiting to see us though, make sure to eat soft food. Make sure it is as soft as possible as not to hurt your mouth.
